Discord Setup
Discord is the most common group chat app used in Condor competitions. It can be used in a web browser but it is recommended you download the windows applications so you can use additional features like push-to-talk.
Push-to-talk
As to avoid disturbing others with your ramblings or expletives to yourself while flying it is requested by most servers that you setup push-to-talk in Discord. Discord does have a voice activity option but in practice it does not work as well as desired. To setup push-to-talk, you need to enter the User-Settings. It is usually found in the bottom left of the Discord window next to your username and the mute and deafen buttons. Then select 'Voice & Video' from the left hand menu. Select the 'Push-to-talk' radio button and choose a key or joystick button to use for opening the mic.
Input Devices
Ensure your input and output devices are set to the microphone and speaker/headphones you are using for Condor. If you are having problems with transmitting or receiving in Discord, this should be the first place to look.
Once in settings, go to Voice & Video
Here you can set your audio input device and output device.
If using a quest 3 i set mine as follows
Max the input volume (so people can hear you)
Middle the speaker volume (adjust as need be to balance condor audio against discord voice)
You can do a mic test if you want.
Set push to talk here, or remove push to talk to fly in a duo together.
Choose your push to talk key.
