Flying Dual in Condor Multiplayer (in the same glider)

To fly in the same glider in Condor, the process is the same as flying in singleplayer, with a small addition.

*Note: Flying in the same glider can only be done in multiplayer

There are two pilots in this scenario:

  • "main pilot" (MP)
  • "secondary pilot" (SP).

Its suggested you be in voice comms during this process to coordinate. Join US Soaring Main Voice Chat then once you're in the air break out into a different voice channel.

Condor has built in voice but its flaky now and US Soaring has the ports blocked. Use discord voice.

First, join the same multiplayer server. Use the scenery test servers to test this out.

MP will navigate to the hangar tab and select the glider (arcus/duo, etc). MP will need to check "Two pilots" if they don't select two pilots then SP will be unable to join MP.

MP should navigate to the multiplayer tab and see they are in the list on the right and in the seat they have selected (back seat in hangar selects the rear seat leaving the front open)

SP will now join MP. Shown below is what SP will see when joining.

SP clicks JOIN on the pilot they want to join (and the seat location)

MP will get a popup message saying SP wants to join you, MP clicks accept

MP and SP are now together!

MP now controls when both pilots launch (SP "start flight" will be greyed out"). When MP clicks start flight, the flight launches for both pilots.

There may be some loading messages like "waiting for copilot" if the people have different computer speeds but both will end up in the cockpit.

While flying, MP will have the controls and SP is a passenger. MP can hand the controls off and take them back. SP has no way to hand controls and its all on MP. Default key left ctrl transfers control between MP and SP and back.
