Do I need to buy the XC Version?


There are two versions of Condor 3: Standard and XC.  XC is the more costly version and includes these extras:

  1. LX Hawk Vario  - processing eliminates gusts from variometer reading and audio
  2. Real time wind display
  3. Bug wipers - to prevent performance degradation
  4. Flarm display of other gliders’ altitude and climb rate

Condor 3 XC DOES NOT COME WITH ANY ADDITIONAL PLANES! The standard version can be upgraded to the XC version later.  The combined price of standard and the XC upgrade is only 5 euros more as of this writing.


The only feature that will affect your airplane performance in XC version is the bug wipers.  If you are planning to fly in a contest that allows bug wipers or planning to fly in a variety of different contests, the performance advantage may be worth it.  Note, even in low settings, you will get a lot of bugs on your leading edge while flying.
