Which VR headset should I buy for Condor?

Condor has inbuilt support for the Meta/Oculus line. All other headsets require additional setup steps compared to the Meta/Oculus line. The most popular Meta/Oculus headsets are the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

You will need to install the Meta Quest Link application onto your Condor PC.

Which to choose between the Quest 2, Quest Pro Quest 3 and Quest 3S?

In short, the Quest 3 will give you the best visual quality, the Quest 2 and Quest 3S will have the same quality but less than the Quest 3. All will give a good experience in Condor, you will need to decide how much you want to spend.

The Quest 2 is now discontinued. You may still find some second hand or refurbished units. The Quest 3 and 3S are currently in production.

The Quest 3 is the top of the line model at the moment. The Quest Pro is available but at about twice the price of the Quest 3. The Pro is an older model than the 3 and has some additional features that the 3 has but most of them will not make an improvement for using Condor. Many reviews claim the newer Quest 3 has the better visual quality vs the Pro.

The Quest 2 and Quest 3S use the same lenses and resolution. The Quest 3S has a newer processor and colour passthrough but neither of those features are used while flying in Condor. When in Condor, you will be using your PC's processor and in full virtual reality mode (no passthrough). The 2 and 3S will be cheaper than the 3 but you will be getting lower resolution than the 3 and the fresnel lenses have a smaller focal point than the pancake lenses on the Quest 3.
